Ferragamo capsule collection derived from SS/23 show set to be released this week

Maximilian Davis, the newly appointed creative director of luxury fashion house Ferragamo, is launching a limited-edition capsule collection, featuring the standout pieces from his debut ready to wear collection ‘A New Dawn’. This selection will be available to purchase both online and at selected Ferragamo flagship stores for 25 days only, from the 4th to the 30th November.

London College of Fashion graduate Davis was introduced as Ferragamo’s creative director in March this year at the age of just 27, after withdrawing from the LVMH Prize young designer competition in order to take the position. Making his widely celebrated debut at Milan Fashion Week in September, he initiated the beginning of a contemporary era for the label.

The phenomenal reaction to his Spring/Summer 2023 show led Davis to release a preview of his Hollywood glamour inspired assortment, including a dazzling crimson adaptation of the classic Wanda bag and a glistening pair of black tailored sequin trousers. Hollywood actress Zendaya Coleman has been photographed modelling a fire orange and burgundy vinyl co-ordinate set from the collection, sparking its popularity.

Milan based content creator Alessandro Grimoldieu, who attended Ferragamo’s ‘A New Dawn’ exclusive launch event, said: “I really love the new collection and I appreciate the minimal and sporty design which is more contemporary and less classic.” Alessandro identified the oversized monochrome Inlay sweater as his favourite piece from the capsule collection, which he has styled alongside an all-black ensemble to create a chic and clean-cut look.

Characterised by the combination of Ferragamo’s signature scarlet and Davis’ touch of minimalism and refined sensuality, the collection signifies Davis’ revitalisation of the label and simultaneous commemoration of its heritage.
